Core Culture: Preventing and Reducing Stress by Focusing on Working Community

The number of stress cases on the Danish labour market is increasing, and by the year 2020, World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that stress and depression will be among the largest disease factors.

Together with five other companies Nordic Computer is participating in the Core Culture project, which aims to develop a tool/method that prevents and reduces stress by focusing on working community.

Working Communities Prevent and Reduce Stress

Based on the core task in a company, the purpose of the Core Culture project is to develop a tool for senior executives that will increase the working community within companies. The tool is developed through a so-called co-creation process, in which the tool is created, tested and adjusted during the project.

During the project, Core Culture’s four partner companies will develop their working communities within their own company by working with a mock-up model of the tool. The companies create working communities by focusing on their:

  • Core task
  • Written communication
  • Oral communication
  • Psychogeography (the physical surroundings)

They aim to increase the working community by undertaking minor adjustments in the company. Those experiences and discoveries gathered by the project team will be included in the development of the final tool.

The final tool must be easy to use for other senior executives, freely available, and support other executive tasks. Whether the tool will be in form of a model, board game or an app has not yet been taken into consideration, and will be decided during the project.

The project is expected to be finalized by March 2021.
